Customs Unlimited
has restored many Corvettes in the past,
from full NCRS and Bloomington "Points" cars all
the way up to perfectly restored daily
drivers. Below is a 1956 that we are
most proud of
and a 1961 that we are currently working on.
This
1956 Corvette was purchased
in 1970. After several years the owner decided to totally
restore the car. For years, he
collected all the required NOS parts to rebuild the car and
replace any worn items with the exact GM pieces. We finished restoring the
body in 1996.
The owner reassembled the car himself, finishing it in
1999. Since
then he has collected
many awards including: NCRS Top Flight and Best of Show at
the Concours de Elegance
at Stan Hywet Hall in Akron, Ohio. Even
now, he is still winning or placing wherever
he
shows it. Besides the fact that this is a
beautiful example of a '56, this Corvette has some
extremely rare options including: Power Top, Power Windows,
Wonderbar Radio, Original
Hardtop, and a 3:70 HT posi-traction rear end. The
engine is a 265 Cubic Inch, 225 HP
version with factory 2 x 4 barrel carburetors. Even the color is rare . . .
Aztec Copper and
Shoreline Beige.

This 1961 Corvette
has been in the same family since it was purchased brand new. The
current owner's father was a doctor and drove the car year round for 20
years. The
doctor left the car to his son, when he passed away. Apparently the car had been
damaged
several times and fixed at Chevy dealers. Every corner had been hit and
repaired. It sat in the son's garage for years before he decided to restore it.
The
son contacted Sam's
Auto Spa to do the chassis and mechanical work and Sam
contracted us to do the body and paint.
It required a new left front fender and rocker
panel. The car was painted with
Sateen Silver. It is currently being reassembled
at Sam's, but it'll be back and we'll
add our finishing touches and get some good
shots of the completed car.
